Originally from Chile, Magdalena brings a unique perspective, having lived through Dictatorship during her formative years before immigrating to USA in 2004. Nestled in Mendocino, Northern California (unceded Pomo Territory), she shares her rural home with her husband, two kids, dogs, cats, and snakes. Alongside running a private practice in her home studio, Magdalena is actively involved in assisting at SE trainings, being part of the Diversity Equity and Inclusion committee at SEI, and the Fort Bragg High School racial, ethnic, and diversity Studies Curriculum Development Committee. She is also currently in her second year of Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy training.

With a background in Graphic Design and two decades of experience in Yoga teaching and meditation practice, she deeply values the courage and resilience it takes to embark on a journey of self-discovery and trauma healing. Believing that our body holds the key to healing, she feels honored to witness and support people in accessing their inner intelligence for connection and integration within themselves, with others, and with the earth.

My Approach

Approach

My approach is diverse and inclusive, body-based and brain-based. I work one on one and I also teach immersions and workshops, integrating approaches and tools from a wide array of lineages, schools and methods, all of them effective in working with trauma, PTSD/C-PTSD, chronic pain, attachment issues, autoinmune diseases and complex/developmental cases.

I offer a many solutions for: pain modulation, MS relief, fibromyalgia, post-stroke intervention, cancer recovery, post-surgery recovery, right-left brain integration, vestibular and visual training, trauma (developmental, attachment, sexual, domestic violence, racial, inmigration, war), PTSD, depression and anxiety relief, couples in relational/attachment issues, empowerment/resiliency and creativity.

I draw tools principally from my trainings in:

  • Somatic Experiencing: body-oriented approach to the healing of trauma and other stress disorders.

  • Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy: manual therapy based on the principles of Osteopathynthat focuses on the body’s hability to heal itself using gentle touch to detect and release areas of tension, restriction and trauma in the cranio sacral system allowing the body to restore its natural rythms and self-regulate.

  • Touch Skills/Co-regulating Touch: Touch-based Somatic Practice developed by Kathy Kain that includes tactile skills, somatic awareness, and other touch-related skills in the context of working with the resolution of trauma.

  • Safe and Sound (SSP) Protocol: a five-hour auditory intervention designed to reduce stress and auditory sensitivity while enhancing social engagement and resilience. Based on Dr. Porges’ Polyvagal Theory

  • Eye of the Needle Master Class: a 12 days in two-part series that addresses how to apply Somatic Experiencing® (SE™) principles to a variety of near death experiences, including but not limited to: drowning, vehicular accidents, physical attacks, illness, and surgery. SE techniques applicable to a wide variety of traumatic experiences are not always sufficient to treat trauma related to NDEs, and Eye of the Needle work is vital to complex cases demanding the most dedicated and skilled practitioners of SE.

  • Neuro Linguistic Programming: pseudoscientific approach to communication, personal development, and psychotherapy.

  • Indirect (Ericksonian) Hypnosis: a subtle, respectful method utilizing body language, stories, metaphors, and other hypnotic techniques to improve client outcomes.

  • Crisis Counseling: domestic violence and sexual assault crisis intervention.

  • TRACC for Movement: A 12 weeks program to understand the trauma inherent in social movements, with methods and practices for engaging healing care on the frontlines and backlines of movements

  • Z-Health: applied pain and performance neurology.

  • IRest Yoga Nidra: meditation practice based on the ancient tradition of Yoga Nidra and adapted to modern life.

  • And my many trainings and teachings of Hatha Yoga and Reiki.

I also draw wisdom from my Latin, Eastern European and Middle Eastern ancestral maternal and paternal lineages and from my homeland of Chile and South America, and it’s indigenous deep influential traditions.

All of these roots have given me deep reverence for the mystical and sacredness of this living planet and a glimpse of the little that we know about the realm of shadows, unconsciousness and the “beyond”.

*My work with clients is much more effective when they also are seeing another practitioner that can treat their symptoms and specific needs, specially for MS, fibromyalgia, depression, post-stroke and post cancer treatment. I will refer a client to another practitioner if they currently don’t have one and they are experiencing any of these conditions or symptoms.
