The Rest and Restore Protocol™ (RRP) is a sound-based therapeutic intervention designed to support deep relaxation, regulation, and overall well-being. Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges, the creator of Polyvagal Theory, and Anthony Gorry, an expert in music and acoustic design, RRP is rooted in the understanding that our nervous system plays a crucial role in healing and restoration.
RRP harnesses the power of scientifically engineered soundscapes to help shift the body into a state of balance, supporting sleep, digestion, emotional regulation, and recovery from chronic stress or trauma-related symptoms.
Elevate Your Well-Being with the Rest and Restore Protocol™
Enhance
Stress isn’t just in the mind, it lives in the body. RRP works with the nervous system to gently recalibrate physiological responses, easing tension and supporting a calmer, more adaptive emotional state.
Focus
Our current way of living is full of sensory overload. RRP provides a structured, evidence-informed sound experience that helps organize sensory input, deepen relaxation, and strengthen concentration while promoting emotional balance.
Restore
True recovery begins with restoration. RRP harmonizes with the body’s natural rhythms to improve sleep quality, enhance nervous system regulation, and support post-treatment or day-to-day recovery, helping you feel grounded, balanced, and renewed.
Empower
RRP can support the reduction of burnout, sharpen cognitive function, and sustain optimal performance through all stages of life, including peri-menopause, menopause, and post-menopause, through sound-based regulation.
Who is the Rest and Restore Protocol For?
RRP is designed for anyone seeking a gentle and effective way to regulate their nervous system, whether for stress relief, trauma integration, or overall well-being. It can be particularly beneficial for those who:
✔️ Struggle with sleep – difficulty falling asleep, staying asleep, or waking up unrested
✔️ Experience chronic stress, anxiety and/or depression – feeling "on edge", unable to fully relax and/or depressed, unmotivated and lethargic.
✔️ Live with trauma-related nervous system dysregulation – difficulty finding states of calm and safety
✔️ Have digestive imbalances – gut discomfort, IBS, or other stress-related digestive issues
✔️ Feel sensory overwhelm – sensitivity to sound, light, or other environmental input
✔️ Seek additional nervous system support in therapy – to enhance other healing modalities
✔️ Stressors that impact interoceptive awareness and regulatory functions – chronic pain, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, histamine reactions, and autoimmune conditions
✔️ Have ongoing difficulties in regulating physiological and emotional state – feeling low resilience and a low window of capacity
RRP offers a safe, non-invasive way to nurture deep relaxation and regulation and an accessible way to support and reinforce nervous system health, integrated with my other therapeutic offerings.
“When I see people I haven't seen in a while and they ask how I've been, or what's new, I just want to talk about the Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP). I started working with Magdalena three months ago using RRP and am truly shocked by how beneficial it has been for me; it is so much more than I could have imagined. The most noticeable shift for me is in my sleep. I previously was a light sleeper and was woken up often by sounds and night sweats. Now I'm sleeping deeply and, even if woken, can easily fall back asleep. Naps are also easily accessible. It's as if, overall, I have much easier access to the rest and digest branch of my nervous system and I'm less tightly wound. This has resulted in more capacity for stressful situations and more joy overall. Magdalena has been very supportive and responsive throughout this journey and I am forever grateful to her.”

The Rest and Restore Protocol is offered only through certified providers via the Unyte digital platform. The program consists of five hours of specially designed music, enriched with Sonocea® Enhanced technology—an innovative approach to entraining nervous system rhythms through sound. The listening experience is flexible and can be tailored to your individual needs, making it easy to integrate into your life as well as in our therapeutic work.

The RRP is best used together with other therapies. Changes from the RRP can be cumulative and will be enhanced by the support received. While you may notice some very positive changes using the RRP, it is not meant to be used in isolation. The changes you see can potentiate neuroplasticity and functional change from before and after therapeutic support. All your RRP sessions will be integrated with the foundation of Somatic Experiencing, Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy, Co-regulating Touch and other on-site and remote somatic resources.

How Does Rest and Restore Protocol (RRP) Work?
Rest and Restore Protocol™ is Sonocea® Enhanced
Sonocea® is a patent-pending innovative technology that uses acoustic parameters that go beyond traditional sound design, integrating the scientific knowledge of endogenous biological rhythms with the nervous system’s proclivity to be entrained through rhythmic stimulation. This approach incorporates in the acoustic stimulation the visceral rhythms of bodily organs.
Sonocea® Technology and Rhythmic Recovery
In the context of RRP, Sonocea® technology serves as a neuromodulatory tool, influencing the autonomic nervous system via brainstem circuits. It employs slow, rhythmic modulation of audible acoustic parameters (e.g., tempo) embedded in music to restore the nervous system’s natural rhythms. By optimizing homeostatic processes such as health, growth and restoration, users can experience calming and restorative effects.
Why does this matter?
By fostering coherence and harmony within these neural pathways, RRP helps individuals feel more at ease, and improve mental and physical well-being. It complements existing therapeutic treatments and interventions for chronic stress and trauma-related challenges, offering healing professionals a powerful tool to enhance and accelerate therapeutic outcomes and provide holistic support.
RRP’s innovative approach to modulating neural rhythms through musical themes offers a non-invasive, accessible solution for promoting relaxation, restoring balance, and supporting overall vitality.
RRP is designed to entrain bodily rhythms back to homeostasis
RRP is designed to co-regulate with the body's natural rhythms, helping the nervous system transition into a state of restoration and ease. Homeostatic rhythms embedded in RRP are carried up to the brainstem and integrated with the brain and throughout other bodily systems via sensory-motor feedback loops — a truly bottom-up and integrative therapeutic process. The carefully curated soundscapes are embedded with rhythmic patterns that mirror and support key physiological functions such as:
- Heart rate variability (HRV) – a key marker of autonomic nervous system flexibility
- Breath patterns – promoting calm, steady respiration
- Digestive function – supporting gut-brain communication
- Sleep cycles – helping regulate and deepen rest
By working with the body's natural biological rhythms, RRP signals safety and relaxation, making it easier to unwind, reset, and integrate daily stressors or deeper patterns of dysregulation.

    Why RRP?
RRP is not just about relaxation—it’s about rewiring the nervous system for greater resilience. By gently guiding the body toward restorative states, it helps rebuild capacity for stress recovery, emotional balance, and deepened well-being.
If you’re looking for a science-backed, somatic-based tool to complement your healing journey, RRP offers a simple yet profound pathway to nervous system regulation.
